Exciting news unfolds as the nominees for the 2025 NAACP Image Awards have been revealed!

On Tuesday, January 7, the NAACP shared the nominations for the 56th annual NAACP Image Awards, illuminating the remarkable talent within our community. Leading the charge is GloRilla, who shines brightly with six nominations in the music recording categories including Outstanding Female Artist, Outstanding Music Video/Visual Album, and Outstanding Hip Hop/Rap Song. Following closely are visionary artists like Doechii, Kendrick Lamar and Usher, who have each earned four nominations. Together, Glo, Doechii, and Usher inspire us as they vie for Outstanding Album alongside the incredible Beyoncé and PJ Morton.

As the anticipation builds for the upcoming award show, the NAACP proudly recognizes extraordinary talents with the announcement of Cynthia Erivo, Keke Palmer, Kendrick Lamar, Kevin Hart, and Shannon Sharpe as nominees for the prestigious Entertainer of the Year award. NAACP President Derrick Johnson joined forces with Chloe Bailey and CEO of BET Scott Mills on The Breakfast Club to share this inspiring news. During their time together, they explored the uplifting themes and excitement that the award show promises to deliver this February.

“We look ahead with hope and anticipation to honor the brilliance of Black talent and creativity—voices that shape our culture, spark change, and uplift future generations,” Johnson expressed in a heartfelt statement. “Through their art in film, music, literature, and beyond, they create a beautiful narrative that honors our legacy, celebrates who we are, and exemplifies the profound impact storytelling has in driving meaningful progress.”

Fans are encouraged to join in the celebration by voting for their favorite nominees on the official website until February 7. The momentous winners will be celebrated during the Creative Honors Ceremonies on February 21, with a live broadcast via BET and CBS from the Pasadena Civic Auditorium on February 22, 2025.
