Amerie Announces Return To Music, Album Coming In 2025

Amerie released her last full projects, 4AM Mulholland and After 4AM, in 2018. The subsequent year, she unveiled two singles, “Curious” and “A Heart’s For The Breaking.” Prior to this period, it had been ten years since her last musical release.

Amerie announced her return to music with a preview of new material accompanied by a caption stating, “I’m back.”

Amerie previewed the single, “Undeniable,” collaborating with songwriter-producer Troy Taylor.

Amerie noted that she and Troy have approximately “20 ideas,” with “Undeniable” being the first fully recorded track. “We just started really. We’re just providing a glimpse,” she clarified.

Troy commended her enduring vocals, stating, “Her voice has not changed. It’s classic. Mint condition classic.”

Regarding their collaboration, Amerie mentioned how Troy has created a significant amount of music specifically for her. “That’s why I was able to select so many tracks. He understands my voice exceptionally well,” she remarked.

Troy further expressed, “I’ve been waiting years. We’ve been compiling a collection, anticipating her return.” His aspiration is to ensure she “sounds classic yet remains contemporary.”

In a separate communication, which Amerie humorously stated was not a paid endorsement, Troy conveyed, “Collaborating with Amerie is remarkable because she is dedicated to every note, tone, expression, harmony, and ad lib that emerges. She commits fully and is focused until the song is complete.”

Throughout the years, the “Why Don’t We Fall In Love” artist has participated in events such as the Roots Picnic and toured with Femme It Forward, while predominantly stepping back from music to establish a book club. She also ventured into authorship and embraced motherhood.
